AZZURO 42 Year 2006
Built in Aluminium by the excellent Alliage Shipyard, the Azzuro 42 displays a lifting keel which bulb goes down to 3 meters, insuring an excellent stability and impressive performances under sails allowing to reduce the draft to 1,65 meter at anchor. The carbon mast increases the performances, reducing the weight aloft. In 2016, the current owner decided to change the energy production for sustainable energy makers (hydrogenerator, solar and wind generator. The electronics and other energy consumers were adaptated to make the ship more self sufficient. We think this ship is made for blue water cruising and comfortable exploration with a crew of 2 or 4.
Owner's words
We bought this Azzuro 42 through AYC in 2014. Her general outfit, her blue water cruising conception and her strong structure, built by the excellent Alliage shipyard, made us hinking she was the ship we were looking for. Of course, we had to get her fitted with some new items to make her matching with what we think blue water cruising is, mainly regarding the energy production and consumption (we wanted to sail a "clean" ship). After 7 years sailing the mediterranean, crossing the Atlantic and cruising in the Caribbean, we now know that it was the right choice. The ship is efficient and comfortable under sails, secure and reliable. The life aboard is easy and nice, and a crew of 2 (and even solo) can easily make it. We maintained her regarding our high standards criterias ans she is ready to sail the world again.
