TOCADE 50 Year 2007
Commissioned by an experimented yachtsman to a design by Patrick Balta , the Tocade 50 is a capable offshore cruising sloop. She was built by Charlie Capelle (Technologie Marine shipyard) in moulded wood with a transverse structure and vacuum-glued Khaya Ivorensis double-layer planking affording excellent stiffness and homely barewood interior joinery very much in the spirit of traditional yachting. An Epoxy outerskin increases to overall ruggedness and provides easier maintenance of the yacht. With 14,000NM under her keel, this efficient and reliable yacht is truly unique.
Owner's words
After owning several beautiful yachts amongst which two aluminium Garcias, my passion for the sea and shipbuilding made we go all the way to build a bespoke yacht in wood. She would be elegant, simple but with a complete equipment, fast and reliable, and especially easy to maintain without the need for a deckhand. Health issues have led me to order a trawler with the same architect and shipyard.
